Real Bliss 1

We began Daily Bliss back in 2017 – the date this post was originally published. We had no idea of what the (r)evolution of bliss would become. Now, all Daily Bliss posts have become Real Bliss. Who knows where we’re headed now.

Wherever You Are, Bliss Is.

Welcome to the (r)evolution of bliss! We’re happy you’re here.

Wherever you are, bliss is. But what is bliss really, you ask? Well, only you can answer that for yourself.

Bliss is not something you can tell anyone how to find. Words defy the purest experience of it. It is personal. It is mystical. And, it is miraculous. This is why it has no formula and must be sought out in an extraordinarily personal way by each of us for ourselves. We created this website so that you can garner…

A series of bold reference points.

We are all explorers. I believe deeply in exploration of all kinds, and especially in self-exploration. One thing that I know aids exploration of any kind is a good marker. I walked the Camino de Santiago in 2004 and my constant that kept me going when all else was fallible were the little yellow arrows that marked the path. We need markers for our adventure, to help us decipher what we want to know about our lives in a moment, or in the broader picture.

Now, you may ask… How do I get to bliss, when feeling blissful is a tall order? How do I get to bliss, when only devastation or despair are near? How do I feel hope-full when I feel power-less around someone, or because of a particular incident in my life?

I had no idea what “following your bliss” meant. And it was from right there, from that uncertainty, that my journey began.

This is where the exploration can begin for you…

Creation is a sustained period of bliss, even though the subject can still be very sad. Because there’s the triumph of coming through and understanding that you have, and that you did it the only way you could do it. You didn’t do it the way somebody told you to do it.

Alice Walker, 20th & 21st Century writer of The Color Purple and more

Bliss can be defined very differently by so many. It can also be defined by everything in a person’s life, or by nothing at all. For myself, at one time, I had no idea what bliss was. I was like Jane Pauley here…

I envy people with dreams and passion, but I don’t think that way. I still don’t have a ‘bliss’ to follow. For people like me – I suspect that’s most people – holding out for a ‘dream’ or ‘passion’ is paralyzing. I just like having work that I enjoy that feels meaningful. That’s hard enough… but it’s enough.

But dreams and passion are not everything bliss can be.

Bliss is personal. Jane actually found what was the pathway to her bliss, by discovering… what bliss was not for her. For her, finding a “dream” and a “passion” were paralyzing. (I can relate, I didn’t even know what a dream was when I was younger. I just heard everyone speak so much about it, I thought to myself, I guess it’s something I’m supposed to do/have.) So, if for you, the focus of others or of society paralyzes you, then don’t begin there.

Begin instead with what makes you happy. This is where bliss begins. With you. Not with an idea from someone or somewhere else. Bliss begins from what resonates in you. Bliss begins with the good feelings in you, and then you can expand from there. It takes courage to set aside the popular ideas, and the seeming demands of society; and to truly set about finding your own rhythm in life may take have everything you’ve got.

Bliss is worth it.

the (r)evolution of bliss was created for this purpose – to assist those of us interested in answering the call to find that unique and individual response to the question, What is Bliss.

Funny thing… Jane Pauley is describing the beginning of her own (r)evolution of bliss in her quote above.

Heartache is very fertile ground for song-making but so is happiness, so is absolute bliss.

Nothing is more important than reconnecting with your bliss. Nothing is as rich. Nothing is more real.

And one more… though there are multitudes more all around you.

My journey?

I wanted to experience ecstasy and bliss… but for real. I hungered to experience more of my own joy and in deeper ways that touched the very core of me. I knew that these two experiences could exist, while fleetingly, inside the realm of sexuality; those were givens in a society filled with porn and a multitude of pathways for sexual exploration. However, for me, the real possibility was that ecstasy and bliss could exist in a new realm – one that did not depend on sexuality alone.

In my journey, I came to discover a sustained experience of ecstasy and bliss from within – without a sexual partner and without an orgasm. I experienced continually ecstasy and bliss from being purely connected to my own energy – a feat only possible when I was able to un-tether myself from the world around me.

The key to experiencing bliss within you and expanding that bliss to encompass your whole life is to be willing. Willingness is number one. For a good many of us, complaining and expounding upon the negative aspects of our life is where we focus a lot of our attention. Complaints and negativity are only one end of the spectrum, while a willingness to be surprised and delighted by life is at the opposite end of that very same spectrum.

The saying, “Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?” is real.

Bliss is our natural state. Joy is our natural state. There is nothing we need to do, or to achieve, or to attain to experience bliss. In fact, there is only what we need to release, relinquish, and recover from within ourselves in order to experience the purest bliss. But those last three are often the more difficult to ascertain as to “how to.” It’s easy to deal in formulas and actions — there are books, articles, blogs (ha!), classes, programs and more out there to tell you what to do, achieve or attain to be happy. But almost none of that is about the inner connection to ourselves. Almost none of that requires a journey inward to connect to who we really are.

Almost all of that – books, articles, classes, programs and more – requires becoming something that you are not to do something that is completely foreign to you.

However …

It is the intangible, that which is beyond action or formula, that is where you can access your natural state of well-being, joy, bliss and more. Intangible doesn’t mean beyond your reach. the (r)evolution of bliss is about allowing you access to your own connection. Our intention is to foster simplicity, relieve your stress, and connect you to your bliss in easy, accessible ways.

So join us as we initiate a revolution and evolution of bliss for everyone. Come back again and again to get what you want.

Here’s one last marker for your adventure. Where will your journey take you next?

Strong emotions such as passion and bliss are indications that you’re connected to Spirit… When you’re [connected], you activate dormant forces, and the abundance you seek in any form comes streaming into your life.

Wayne Dyer, 20th & 21st Century writer of many self-empowerment books
